HOW TO PRODUCTIVELY SPEND YOUR TIME DURING LOCKDOWN

Hi, I hope you are well. Today we will be talking about how to spend time during the quarantine period. As you know, we are not going back to school any time soon (well until next year). So I came up with some tips and ideas for you guys on we can survive and utilize all this time we have in our hands. Before I start on today’s topic I wanted to thank you for reading and sharing my blog posts in the past 2 weeks. Go check out my all social media accounts which I will list down at the end of this post.

What is lockdown and what are its consequences

Lockdown basically means a state of isolation or restricted access instituted as a security measure like what is happening to the world. In short, it means that you are not allowed to get out of your house unless you’re going to buy groceries, you’re going to the hospital, or attending to an essential service. Other than that especially kids, tweens, and teens, there is nowhere else you can go. 

Let’s talk about the consequences due to Corona. 

  • 1.     No going to school
  • 2.     No traveling
  • 3.     More anxiety
  • 4.     No leisure activities.
  • 5.     Fear of the virus
  • 6.     Deaths because of the virus hence low population

So you see, the lockdown has made a huge difference in our lives but instead of being negative about it let’s be positive and productive.

Tips to help you get through it

a)     Accept the new order of things- to be able to get through this you need to come to terms with this pandemic

b)    Set up a daily routine. To begin with, you have to have a routine. Have a timetable that you follow-through from the time to wake up to when you go to bed.  Also, remember to be consistent  

c)     Keep yourself busy – Well, if you spend the whole day at home you can’t just be a couch potato watching Netflix, YouTube, or Tiktok, you have to keep yourself busy with either your schoolwork or your hobby which could be dancing, singing, writing (like me) or art.

d)    Develop your more creative side- This is associated with the previous one. Be creative, check out what you are good at and work on it. You can develop a hobby and start doing it, just don’t sit there as you will get really bored and frustrated.

e)     Do more exercise and eat healthy at home- This is a major point. You guys know I love to stay active and eat healthily. Staying at home can make you want to eat more often than while in school. So you need to watch what you are eating, start eating healthy and being more active.

f)      Protect yourself- During this period, you should remember to stay safe. You should not risk your life by socializing with others in the name of fun, you should remember that this is a deadly disease.

g)     Stay in touch with your friends and family- Do not forget that you have friends and family. Even in lockdown, we remember to stay in touch with our loved ones.

h)    Keep an eye out for your mood- In all this, you need to watch out for your mood. You should not get stressed all the time. I know all this is overwhelming, but you should not forget that you are not alone. Everybody in the world is going through this and we all need to be positive and let the Lord guide us. And remember to always attend online church, read your bible, and pray.
